We at LEWNEY Label are committed to being carbon neutral and environmentally friendly
Our new carbon neutral commitment will offset all Greenhouse Gas emissions from our own operations annually by contributing to projects around the world that help to protect and restore some of our most important forests. These forests play an essential role in mitigating climate change and preserving biodiversity.
We are committed to using recyclable and environmentally friendly packaging to reduce the amount of waste ending up in land-fill or our oceans. Our boxes and mailer bags are made from 100% recyclable material and are environmentally friendly.
Where possible we aim to use environmental friendly fabrics.
Our T-shirts are manufactured using Organic Pima cotton. Pima is considered the finest cotton on earth. Pima cotton production has generally less impact on the environment than other types of cotton production. Pima cotton is usually handpicked, which helps retain the integrity of the cotton fibre. By using this method, less waste is produced, which lessens the environmental impact of producing this type of fabric. The Pima cotton is sourced from the United States, it is usually produced under the auspices of either the ASA or the USDA, which means that strict guidelines are followed to minimise environmental degradation. Since G. barbadense has relatively less impact, it is inherently sustainable to grow this type of cotton.
Our Scarves are made from 100% silk crepe de chine. Whilst being one of the most luxurious and durable materials it is also environmentally friendly. Silk is naturally produced and therefore is sustainable and uses less fossil fuels to produce.
Ecologi Climate Positive
We at LEWNEY Label have partnered with Ecologi to become a Climate Positive Workforce. This means we compensate for our carbon footprint and we actively fund climate projects.
It’s now common knowledge that one of the best tools to tackle the climate crisis and keep our temperatures from rising above 1.5C is to plant trees. They are also crucial to preventing ecological collapse.
We invest money into projects that remove more greenhouse gasses than our own carbon footprint puts in.
Each month we support a range of carbon reduction projects that are certified at the very highest level by Gold Standard and equivalent.
